WBA Player of the Month: May 2014
The Albion-Index.com player of the month for May 2014 is Stephane Sessegnon with a score of 75 points.
Despite three defeats and a poor month for Albion, Sessegnon followed-up his second place in April's player of the month awards with first position this month, indicating his strong finish to the season. Albion's 29-year-old attacking midfielder was the only Albion player to score during May, this, coupled to the fact Albion's joint record signing completed every game during the month, was enough to secure the player of the month award.
Making his first appearance in the top three in the last monthly awards of the season is Craig Dawson, finishing second in May 2014 with 63 points. The 24-year-old Albion defender has enjoyed an increasing role under manager Pepe Mel and has shown his versatility in playing out of position at right-back in the last two fixtures of the season. The Rochdale born former England-U21 international played in every fixture during the month, completing approximately 80% of available match time and also contributed an assist in Albion's final day defeat to Stoke City at the Hawthorns on the 11th of May.
Ben Foster, James Morrison and Saido Berahino all finished in joint third position on 60 points based solely on appearance awards.
